Women In Action
Underprivileged women in rural India are always a priority for IMAP, especially tribal women.
Thanks to our social system, which hardly allows any social security for women and girls.
Economic freedom is a well-known foundation for women's empowerment. However, it is
difficult to practice. Tribal women are more vulnerable as they have few options.
Over the past 15 years, these women have worked with us to develop different projects.
Through this association, IMAP gradually identified the underlying causes of their insecurities. It
has taken several steps to assist them through many initiatives.
IMAP Initiatives
In today's socio-economic structure of tribal societies, women have no control over their
financial future. Women are hardly considered empowered because the community lives
permanently below the poverty line. These women's scepticism toward any changes was
evident as soon as we met them. To help them overcome this mental barrier to accepting the
novel, we first gave them some training on different subjects. The goal
of this training was to integrate them into the labour market and make them aware of their
strengths.
